Toner Riot is a volunteer zine collective with two tired copiers, one risograph, and a long table anyone can sit at. We write about making small publications by hand.
We started in 2019 with a borrowed copier in a laundromat back room. Now we run two print nights a week, a lending shelf of about four hundred zines, and this blog, which is mostly an excuse to write down the things people ask us at the table.
What we do
- Open print nights where anyone can use the machines at cost
- Workshops on folding, binding, and hand lettering
- A free lending library of zines donated by readers
- A table at every zine fest within a day’s bus ride
If you can fold a sheet of paper, you can publish.
Want to help? Come to a print night, bring a zine for the shelf, or write to us.
