Our Thursday print night moved to the laundromat back room while the shop floor was repainted. Here is what it looked like.
Doors opened at six and the first person was already waiting with a folder of originals. By seven, both copiers were running, the paper cutter had a queue, and someone had put the kettle on without being asked.

Most people came to print, but a surprising number came just to sit at the long table and fold. There is something about a room full of people making small things that makes everyone quieter and kinder.
We ran out of long staples at nine and toner at half past. Next time we buy double of both, which is what we said last time.
Everything in this post works just as well at a library copier or a corner copy shop. You don't need a studio, just a flat table and about an hour.
We keep a guest book by the door. Some people write their name, some write a poem, and one person drew the entire floor plan of the shop from memory. It is the best zine we have never printed.

Love this. Any chance of a workshop on it at the next print night?

The pull quote is going on my studio wall.

Thank you for writing this down. It’s the kind of thing people only ever explain in person.
Ines Duarte
Yes! Bring it to Thursday print night and we’ll swap.
Wren Castellano
Saved this to print out, which feels like the right way to save it.

Bookmarked, printed, folded, and stapled into my notebook.

We tried this at our library print night and it worked first time.

Legal size works; just trim a strip off the long edge first.
Marcus Yoon
Thanks for reading. Let us know how it turns out.
